went to track today got my 1st times in the gt


ok took my 01 gt auto. to cecil county, first run f'n embarrassing lmfao I turned traction control off here was my numbers lolllll thought it was supposed to help.
1/4-24.367
mph-50.81
the car barely left 2nd gear lolololll.

My 2nd run was better traction control on here is my numbers my mods are listed in sig are these good or bad? I think my 60' was bad I launched at 1500rpms too?? whatcha guys think?

For your first time and a pathetic 60' you didn't do too bad. Atleast get some better tires and you'll see a 13 second quarter mile time easily.

if you can get the sixty down to a 2.0 then you should see a 14 flat or maybe a high 13

yeah my 60' was oddly bad wasnt it? Hell my old 96 v6 stang with 4.10's did better pulling a 2.2 60'. What are some things that will improve my 60'?

Some stickier tires, times look about like mine when I 1st got my car. Bone stock I ran a best of 9.4 on street tires

I got 315/35-17's sumi's on my rear what should I put on the rears? or brand wise switch too?

Those Sumi's are not going to hook untill they are bald, i could not get below a 2.4 when they were new. After they were slick straight across i was able to get a 1.91

because my friends stock GT ran a 13.9 next to me with him shifting like a bat outta hell

just for S&G's...my GT ran a 21.xx before the 14.7 because i had never launched the car before and spun up to the 3rd gear...skipped it then went to 4th...now that was upsetting lol

you guys need to realize the o/p's car is an auto, your advice is geared towards a stick car.

you don't really need better tires just yet, the sunitomos will get you into the 2.2/2.1 60' area & untill you put gears & a converter in the car you wouln't be able to physically go much better than 2.1's.

best bet is a decent burn out with the tires at 24 psi, stage with 1 good bump, traction control off, car in drive, leave a NO MORE than 1000 rpms.

with your mods, that should get you a 2.2 ish 60' & around a 14.2.

you'll be stuck there till you get some more advanced mods unfortunately.

car should definitely be low 14's with those mods, i ran a 14.2 w/ a 2.1 60' when i had a cai, sct chip, o/r x-pipe on street tires also.

k but back to the traction control off I launched low rpm with it off and the fucker wouldnt leave 1st gear barely and would not stop spinning through 2nd. my mph showed 120mph. I thought I blew my tranny it was slippn n spinnin that bad. I turned the traction control on and had the best time. I thought pushing the button for it to go off helped? It shore in hell aint on mine.

I'd chock your experiance up to not doing a good enough burnout, early season poor track prep, too much pressure in the tires & possibly just an old set of shitty tires.

you shouldn't really have quite the traction problems your having with a basically stock auto car.

try the lower psi & a decent burnout, the traction control isn't the answer.

if all else fails, get a set of 555r's, your traction problems will be solved for quite a few mods then.

I have regular street tires on my TA and see 2.0 60ft 13.0/1 at 106.xx. Try to leave too hard and it ruins the whole run. I would do a set of M/T DR's and a converter.

I seen 1.6 60's with Nitto 555R 275/40/17 on my 98 Camaro SS with a 3500 Yank Converter.

That's not crazy bad for stock or anything. My first time at Cecil when my mustang was stock (auto) was 14.29. Right now I've clicked off a few 14.0 passes even a 13.98 deep on a really good weather day. Only cold air intake and catback. Try bringing up the rpms on the converter.

Ok guys goinback to track here is my new mods bama 93 race tune, 3.73s, 31 spline axels and cobra lsd, eibach prokit springs and eibach pro damper shocks and struts. Aluminum ds. plus mods in sig. What yall think ill run? I ran a 14.4 before these mods and that was with a shot lsd one wheeler peeler and a shitty launch at 1krpm's.
