A bit of a drivers race, but it depends on the '11. 6MT or auto? 3.31's?
I'd say yes the V6 should win, especially since the Mach 1 will now be 8-10 years old.

Definitely shouldn't be a driver's race. The 5 spd Mach 1 was running low 13's right out of the box. You would need to be running a tune, catback, CAI, and probably 3.73's on the V6 to run a similar 1/4 mile. Motor Trend - 13.2 seconds at 106.7*mph.
Also keep in mind stock it's not just a half second. The V6 with PP would be a half second gap just due to it's 3.31 and stickier tires. And let's be honest, anyone who says a half second is a drivers race is misguided at best. I love my 3.7 however it's not a drivers race. If I took two runs on the same night with a stock 3.7 V6 without the PP and a run with a well maintained Mach 1 I would expect to run a second quicker in the Mach 1. |

I really hate to say this but it is a drivers race leaning towards the Mach 1. It also depends on the gears and if from a roll or dig. I did a roll with a mach 1, 3 times, twice from 40 and once from 30. My stock 2.73s lost it for me on the 40 being i had to start the roll bout half way thru 2nd gear instead of 3/4 thru 1st on the 30 roll. i walked away on the 30 roll by about a half of car, this was bone stock besides magnaflow mufflers. No exp from a dig with one. Just the steeper gear would prob win the race for sure.

It would be close but I'd have to give it to the Mach. When my old Mach was stock, my first pass was a 13.5, then I slowly wittled it down to a 13.3.

A buddy of mine ran 12.9 in his 04 Mach, and I've seen multiple N/A Machs in the high 12s.
Mods = catback, short-throw, drag radials. No gear. I'd have to say not really a driver's race without quite a few mods on the v6. Most people underestimate how fast the Mach 1 is from the factory. |

-Curb weight = 3453 lbs -Horspower = 305 hp -Torque = 280 ft/lbs -Gear ratio = 2.73 or 3.31 2004 Mach 1: -Curb weight = 3465 lbs -Horsepower = 305 hp -Torque = 320 ft/lbs -Gear ratio = 3.55 I believe the weights are a little higher on auto trannys but what the Mach 1 has going for it is the higher gear ratio (only slightly vs the performance package V6) and a nice jump in torque but it also has age working against it. I believe it would be a drivers race in the end. Sure the Mach has the advantage but that doesn't mean the driver can launch or shift well enough to stay ahead of the V6. Same goes for the V6, the driver has to know what he/she is doing. Mach 1's might be quick but the new V6s will give them a run for their money. They're no puny >190hp V6s.

I'm pretty sure the new V6 weighs a little over 3700lbs with fluids. I know for a fact the S197 platform is around 300lbs heavier than the SN95 platform.
