Going racing Friday night 3/25 got some questions?
So this will be the first time I've raced this car at the track. I've got some skinnies for the front and some 215/60/14 BFG DR's Im hoping to run as long as the wheels clear the disc brakes. I've run them on the old car and they have done well. I know they are small but beats burning up the street tires.
What are you guys shifting at normally? Car is mostly stock and on the street it feels like once I hit around 5500 she is working pretty hard, I think she'll go up to 6k but kinda thinking that is past the power band and may not help for best et. Also tryin to do some math. I've got the stock 3.27 gears but w/ a 24" tire which is what the DR's are i'm thinking i'll get some mechincal advantage which my act like a 3.50 gear or something, any thoughts, or comments are appreicated. Also gonna try to pull some weight out the trunk and back seat. Any other things I need to consider?

You can unbolt the front swaybar and take it off to run it and maybe pull the back and passenger seats. Yeah I remember when I had the stock cams it fell on its face about 5,500 so I would shift there. Those BFG DR's are supposed to hook VERY well.

most likely you'll be better off on the street tires, 215 is a pretty small contact patch & probubly wouln't gain you anythig even though their drag radials.

I"ve had a lot of mods on my dyno and I think shifting at 5 to 5500 should be ok. try moving up and down on your shift points and see if it picks up. Good luck!
