First 1/8 with 99 GT

Finally made it out with the 99 and it was my first time racing at my local track since I left after college in 02-04. My goal for the evening was just to feel the car out and hit at least a 7.99 at our crappy track. Drove 1hr to track. Times below:

First Pass - Dropped to 15psi left around 4k (QTPs 26 x 11.5 x 15)

Reaction: .309
60 1.75
330 5.20
1/8 8.00 (almost got my nightly goal)
mph 88.22

Second Pass - Dropped to 13psi and left around 5k

Reaction: .992
60 1.83
330 5.23
1/8 8.04
mph 88.27

Third Pass - Timeslip lost but a blew 4th, 4k launch

60 1.75
1/8 8.01
mph 81.1

Fourth Pass - 13psi 4k launch

60 1.71
330 5.12
1/8 7.93
mph 88.11

There's more to be had from both the car and driver, but I felt decent after not racing for a while at the track and making literally no suspension changes at all. Good baseline night.

Oh yeah, one thing I did note is that I need a raptor or some other shift light badly.

99 GT - 4.6 Stroker, VT heads and Cam, Drag Suspension front and back, 4.10s, 5 spd, lightened up.

Nasty,

You'll definitely be there considering how you ran on the 555s with the slick.

Next track outing I'll play with the suspension more and shoot for some 7.70s-7.80s.

Nice times. I'm trying to get the Focus down in the 7s myself. My best so far is a 8.13 @ 86mph with a 1.79 60ft. Hopefully now with the 4.06 gear, LSD, and higher 2step, I can make that happen. Did you go to Colonial Beach Dragway?

I ran at Northeast Dragway in Herford, NC.

Quick Focus you got there.

Ah, ok. I know colonial beach sucks.

I'm still trying to see what I can muster out of the Focus on the stock internals but I've about reached my limit tq wise before I start snapping rods. A built motor with 20psi and low 11s should be coming this winter if everything budgets out correctly.
