Went to the track new PB and vid
Went up to the track tonight, weather was decent. Humidity sucked. It was about 78* and humidity was around 75-80%. I was going to try the MT ET Streets, my dad used them first on his Mach and I guess the rear end felt really loose. Talked to some guy, basically said the front tires make it feel like that. He has 285 Vredestiens up front. So I didnt even bother using them.
First run after an hour of cool down was a 12.8 @ 113mph and I missed 3rd. After that I couldnt get my trap speed back up, it was heat soaking. My best was and new PB which isnt good was a 12.6 @ 112mph with a 1.9 60 foot on the NT555Rs. After that run I decided to hot lap it before they shut the track down, I thought it was my best run, turned out to be a 12.7 @ 108mph crazy how much the mph when down, 4mph from 1 pass. Definatley need a new intercooler. Cant wait for the fall.Got 1 video, from my iphone but it in the cup holder. Just fast forward to 40 seconds. Best run: 60' - 1.97 1/8 - 8.221 @ 88.61mph 1/4 - 12.62 @ 112.13mph I was happy considering the car really needs a better way to keep the IAT's down. Going from a 112 to 108mph trap is rediculous. Must have been some decent timing pulled. BUT considering my best run last year was a 12.7 @ 116.88 then running a 12.7 with almost a 9mph slower trap gives me a lot of hope.

Those are decent times but I think your 60fts could still use some improvment. My 04 on street tires(actual street radials not dr's) running the 100 shot ran 12.67@112. It may just be in how you launch the car. Have you thought about putting meth on your car to help with iat's?

Not bad, PBs are always nice. And dude don't hesitate to ask if you want to use the gopro. I can include the instructions this time though so you don't have to make 100 three second clips. lol.

no shit! my bad dude. That Gopro is so sick, I have to get one soon. I might head up to the track again Wednesday depending on weather, so if its cool Ill text you later and see if I can snag it on the way up. I have to get more videos with that thing. Thanks man!

u ever try putting an ice bag on ur intake between runs, well i dont know if you could put it on ur supercharger or would just want it on the intake, but it does help cool things down ALOT!
the last time i went to the track, i did a run, came back, parked for about 15mins, and my intake was still hot, then i made a pass, came back, put the icebag on, and in 10-15mins my intake was cold!

You cant put ice on the centri supercharger. The volute will shrink, and the impellar will scrape. I did have 4 bags going.
1 on the intake, then 3 along the piping from the fenderwell to the upper plenum. It cooled things off a lot. IAT's went from 72* then by the time I was doing my burnout, IAT was hitting 114* . Time for methanol. Shit is driving me nuts.

114 with the throttle open? or when you let off of it? Either way, thats not bad at all. If it were mine I'd swap in the 4.10's and buy a tire. No need for meth on 10psi and 114 air temps.

With the throttle closed. I looked right before I did my burnout. I still ran a 12.8 @ 113mph with a miss shift at 3rd. Im sure my IATs were sky high by the end of 2nd gear.

by the time you start the car, get thru the staging lanes, do your burn out, stage & finally start down the track, any gains you may or may not have seen from the cooled down intake are long gone. not only that the "ice bag guys" always end up tracking water thru the staging lanes & up to the starting line making things just a little more difficult for the rest of us. ever wonder why the vetrans are pointing at you (& some of them are usually laughing) when you do the whole ice thing? this is why.
