Trying to nail down a decent list of what it takes.

I have an 06 GT vert. I know, heavy...
Its automatic.

Not doing cams (not going into why, but just saying its off the table, period)
Not doing Nitrous.
Staying naturally aspirated.

Here is the list of what I have, speed wise.

SCT X3 with BAMA lifetime tunes
JLT CAI
Steeda underdrive pulleys
Steeda CMDPs
GT500 Throttlebody (got it cheap)
JBA LT headers with high flow cat H pipe
Flowmaster American Thunder axlebacks
MEZIERE electric water pump
Hypertech 160deg thermostat
Gates $tupidly overpriced belt for steeda pulley/meziere
1 set of O2 extensions (I heard I need 2 sets for the JBAs?)
4.10s (Ford Racing)

J&M lower control arms
J&M adjustable panhard bar
Eibach Prokit springs
GT500 strut tops

I know those springs will F up the launch, but being a street car that has goals other than purely 1/4 mile, its a compromise I have to make, to have the look I want. Hopefully it isnt the deal breaker.

I thought this should be able to get me into the 12.9 range, aparently not. I am coming from an AWD Subaru background and making a car able to run 12.9s or better took me 10 minutes with a laptop and free open source software. Hell my STI did 12.9 bone stock (low traps though, like 103 IIRC) and my last subaru would have done 10s had I taken it to the track.

So I am a bit lost as far as what it takes to run what time with a Mustang.

All I know is, most of my friends cant drive worth a damn, so anything 12.9 or better and traps 110 or better, will be enough to keep them from giving me TOO much crap.

For now I am speaking about regular street tires, which I know is a problem, but its going to be a while till I get drag radials.

But is it hopeless? Am I doomed to take a beating from my buddies?

And if so, what do I need to do? I GOTTA think 12.9s and 110 can be done without cams or spray or blower. Am I just completely off base there?

If so, what does it take? Like what setups do this, or what can I add to mine. Or like I said, is it a totally lost cause?

i know you said ur not doing cams, but thats gunna be a big plus in power and help u reach ur goal. and weight reduction is gunna be huge too, like u said, u have a heavy car, what does ur car run stock? u need to find out that, drag radials are gunna pick u up atleast .2-.3 on ur times. and ur gunna need a good stall since ur auto,

ive got an 04 with 280rwhp/315fttq, and on street tires my best was a 13.68, that was before i got tuned, i had 260rwhp. i got tuned, and now its a little warmer outside, well alot warmer, and im on new street tires, i was on bald tires that hooked better. now my best is a 13.76, hoping with gears and slicks ill reach high12s/low13s, not sure tho.

step one is gettin to the track!

So what does car run now? Did you ever track it?

To be honest you should be there now with your mods and DR's. With my 06 auto convertible, I went 12.91 @ 106.8.
Davad Motorsports 93 tune
JLT CAI
Steeda UDP
FRPP 4.10's
FRPP x-pipe
275/40/17 DR's
minor weight reduction (subs, spare, stb removed)

With no weight reduction and heavier, taller wheels/tires, I went 13.3@105
