So a few nights ago, I came home and my mom was talking shit about my car... She was saying that her car had amazing paint and even had A/C. Somehow we got to the point of racing. She then told my dad he should set up a race between us at the local drag strip. 2003 GT coupe with a shit ton of mods vs. a 2005 GT convertible that's COMPLETELY stock. Sadly, I think she still has a little more power than me, but mine is a shit ton lighter... This should be interesting!

Neither of us have EVER driven at the track. So yeah... Neither of us know what to feel traction wise.

dont launch hard! you spin all day long on street tires! ease out the clutch, then hit it! 60ft times win/lose races. you got this man. ohyeah, NO BURNOUT ON STREET TIRES, just spin em over for a second, i usually rev up the rpms a little, dump the clutch, then step right back on the clutch, its just enough to get off any trash. ALSO dont go thru the water box, go around it!

It'll be close. I raced an 05 GT and a C/S (not a vert, so it was lighter than your competition) and lost both times. But then again my car only had an o/r x pipe, flowmaster cat back's, and a CAI at the time. Stock gears too.

I got the burnout thing, but explain the launch a in a little more detail. I can launch pretty smooth on the street, but I really don't know what to expect track wise. I'm not expecting slick traction, but it has to be a lot different than the track!

Your gonna have to be easy off the line if your running street tires and thats where all of your advantage is at. You should still outrun her, if you don't screw up the start.

I mean, you only have bolt ons as of right now. Not sure if that's gonna cut it lol. Maybe the 4.10's might give you the edge, but i haven't raced any 3v's after i got 4.10's. Then again, the vert does weigh more, like i said earlier.
