my 06 gt vs 86 iroc-z

high im new to this forum i have a 06 gt auto with borla exhaust and k&n air intake my cousin lives in chicago and has a 86 iroc-z with a 355 vortec 906 heads rpm airgap intake lunati cam 515 lift headers and 600 cfm holley carb i've driven this car and its fast as autopay at wellsfargo but do to the 85mph speedo he has we loose track at the top of 3rd gear yes he has the fivespeed 3:42 rear posi but hes a big 230 pound guy and im 160ish race is for 200 bucks can i beat him...........he wont give me 1/4mile times or dyno info.

I think he is gonna walk all over you if you only have exhaust and air intake. I'd beat your car is a mid to low 14sec performer, those 355 are no joke, lots of variables though..

I had a friend with a 91 z28 (same style as 86 iroc) with a 355 zz3. It ran low 13's with headers and stock size street tires. Good luck...

we are racing tomorrow and he as the thing at my house he removed the slicks and put on 295 50 street tires and he likes too nail the take off so im sure he'll spin but i got a trick my dads friend has a 08 srt8 challenger thats going to kill him if he beats me the challenger is also stock with magnaflow..........

Sorry your wrong there bud. If his tune is worth a crap at all that car should trap almost 112 mph. My TA in my sig is a 355 with a comp 306 cam(.510/.540 lift). With this cam and just ported stock heads(248 cfm @.600) I ran 12.16@110. I now have a set of untouched afr 180cc street heads that flow 260 cfm@.600. Third gens are about 100lbs lighter than fourth gens auto for auto. His car is roughly 200lbs lighter than mine since he has a 5spd to my auto. Going off of the mods you have your car should run 14.0-13.8@99-101. That srt-8 is going to run 13.4-13.1@107-109 on the factory tires. That being said, that iroc should have no problem running 13.2-12.9@109-112 depending on how well your cousins tune and driving ability are. You should go ahead and not bet any money. The srt-8 might have a chance if you cousin screws up.

He killed me and the challenger I don't think vortex heads intake and cam can do that much I think he sprayed me

I'd put money on he ran you on motor. Gmpp Vortec heads flow around 240 cfm outta the box and I recently found out they are lighter than even I thought. Around 3360 race weight on most. Which puts it at a full 240 lbs lighter than my TA. It's probably making around 320rwhp which is plenty for 110+ mph. I hope you didn't put any cash on that race as that was a fools bet.
