well it was hot and humid as frickin crap...and the car spun. dunno if its because the tire pressure was too high (using cheap pen style pressure guage) or if its because i was spraying just using the WOT switch this time...could have been a little of both.
still not a bad night though. didn't blow anything up and it sprayed out of the hole around 2500 rpm's... anyway, still ran 7.6 with a 1.7 sixty foot. 60' should have been around 1.60. car felt like it was leaving really hard but it would spin

thanks...
the sixty frickin sucked lol...should have been a full tenth lower. i cut 1.63 not spraying as soon gonna try dropping the pressure a little more with a better tire guage...see if that will help. if not its time to look into some suspension changes

What do you have done suspension wise?

full upr front suspension (tubular) with no sway bar
double adjustable uppers poly/poly lowers plain jane tokico's all the way around oh and fox body springs on the back. 12-250 springs up front. if dropping the pressure doesn't work then i'll look into some tokico adjustable shocks/struts and some different springs

I'd look into 4 cylinder fox springs for the front. Grab them at the junkyard for cheap. They work really well with weight transfer on a budget. Plus, they'll drop the front end another .5" - .75" just from how soft they are.

you should be fine where you'r at power wise/ect with your current tire's/susp.
I'd be looking at the tire pressures, check to see what other guys are saying (ie. mabie the track sucked that night), sloing down the front end rise. as to the 4cyl springs, he has coilovers, but as a general rule, everyone who's any kind of serious has either tried them & took them back off or just skipped them. modular cars launch like to lauch at high enough rpms that uncontrolled front end rise will hurt you by unloading the rear tires. it's bad enough that quite a few folks (including me) run front end travel limiters to control it..

Oh damn, gotcha. lol I figure that would be why you'd run a progressive spring on the back with a stiff shock.

yeah i'm betting it was just the 99 cent gauge being inaccurate.
or the track may have sucked. it didn't absolutely blow the tires off or anything but it definitely spun. btw, the front end on my car doesn't seem to rise much at all. at least not from looking on the outside. i just ordered a guage from summit that is supposed to be accurate within one percent.

It doesn't raise much on spray? It should be pulling the front tires off the ground. I'd play with the tire pressure for sure.

well it feels like it raises a bit in the car but my buddies told me it doesn't raise at all (looking from outside obviously) lol
yet it still cut a 1.63 (not spraying as soon out the hole)...anyway, my buddy told me he usually ran around 11lbs so i think some lower pressure would help for sure...my crappy guage told me 14 if that was even correct. could have been 16-17 for all i know. we'll see next time out....which won't be till it cools off

sometimes loose is good but I think in his case (ie. a rather high stalled auto leaving off the foot brake on spray), tightening things up with travel limiters/etc might go a long way. all of those thoughts should be put on hold though until the tire pressure situation is dealt with.

I didn't know he was an auto. Hmm that's odd though. My 04 was a 5spd and with stock front suspension on the factory 17's it'd pull the front tires off the ground. My TA just has dr's and stock front suspension(it has qa1 coil overs but stock k-member and a-arms) and pulls the front up every pass about 4-5" off the ground. Maybe it is just to loose.
