Vortech Track Results
60': 1.86
1/8: 8.29 MPH: 84.92 1/4: 12.81 MPH: 110.47 Race weight: 3,575lbs Tire: 275/50/15 BFG DR Only made three passes because there were alot of cars. Was hoping to run 12.60's with 1.7x 60fts. I'm not a fan of slipping the clutch so I need to figure out how to launch with the supercharger. The stock clutch took a 4500rpm and 5000rpm dump like a champ. First pass was a 13.0 @ 109.5. Second pass was 12.83 @ 110. On the second pass doing a 4500rpm lauch it felt like the car grabbed then bogged right before I shifted to second. On the third pass doing a 5000rpm launch car grabbed great in first, and when I shifted to second it bogged down a little. The only time I actually saw 9psi was on the dyno. Weather during dyno tuning was mid 50's, and it was the same yesterday. So yesterday at 8psi it was probably only making 346rwhp.

Getting faster is always progress, though the trap speed seems slow for that much WHP

You think so? I was expecting 109-111mph. Race weight is almost 3600lbs.

Your trap should be up alittle more. Id say around 114mph. Ive been only trapping at about 111-113mph. Fighting belt slip and shitty weather. Last year I ran, went 113-115-117mph.

On motor i have about 60WHP less and trapped about 3mph higher in the 1/8th, my car prob weighed about 3,500lbs at the time on 17" wheels in the back on Nitto's and 18" in the front. But who knows man im not arguing with ya or saying its slow just seems like it should of trapped a little better, could of just been a hot motor, slow shift, too much humidity etc......

Dave, 8.18 @ 87mph is VERY impressive. My best 1/8 is 8.20 @ 88.5mph. My car is kind of a pig in the 1/8 then picks up pretty well in the quarter. The weather wasnt great, its starting to cool off now. Ill be looking for 7.8 in the 1/8 now. Back in the Spring when the weather was good, I ran a 8.28 @ 91mph. Weather kills these cars with boost. Really makes me want to run a AIS methanol kit.
Dave have you ran on Nitrous yet?

Every since the 4.10 gear went in the car has felt great on the street, but not performed to well at the track. On street tires N/A my best pass was 13.68 @ 102 w/ 2.05 60'. I added 4.10's and on street tires ran 13.80 @ 101 w/ 2.05 60'. Then added 275/50/15 BFG drag radials and ran 13.44 @ 100.5 w/ 1.77 60'. Seems like the gears are slowing the car down. I would think that if I ran 13.68 on street tires with 3.27's the addition of 4.10's and dr's would put me really close to a 13.0. I feel like I have moved backwards by doing the gear. I wanted a 12.60 out of the car the other night and I would have definitely got it if I got the 60' into the 1.7's. I knew the car would not be going any quicker than 112mph at my power level. Most guys with ~ 375rwhp are running 113mph in the 1/4 so I knew the car would not be anywhere near there. I don't know how some guys are trapping 115-117mph with less than 400rwhp, but that kind of mph is good for deep 11's. I've seen a few cars trap 113mph and run 11.90's.

No doubt. My buddy mell0 ran a 12.5 @ 114. He dynod at 355rwhp but weather was hot on the tune day. Id like to see what it makes in good weather. Id guess around 375rwhp.
Since I trapped 117mph in pretty good weather, in this cold weather, I should be there again. Only difference I made was going from 4.10s to 3.73s. But it shouldnt affect my trap speed that much. With the 4.10s I was going through past my shiftpoint. So it probably hurt me alittle.

Looking up the weather data for the day I ran 12.7 @ 117mph. At the time, it was 68 degrees, 43% humidity, and pressure was 30.01in. Weather is only getting cooler, and less humid. So I should be there again.
You should be there too. Boost loves loves loves cold weather.

Here is a vid. Forward to 5:30. Me racing a buddy from my local forum. That was the 12.81 pass. He ran an 11.96 @ 112 w/ 1.65 60'. He has a KB @ 10psi making 377rwhp through a built and stalled auto (3200), 3.73's, and 275/50/15 M/T DR's.

Only ran it 2 times on the spray, both times it just spun all of 1st and half of 2nd on the tires I pulled the 1.79 on N/A. Best one was like a 8.30 @ 94 with a 1.98 60 foot.

346 is right for a 110 trap. My 04 ran 12.29@110 making 347 and with some fine tuning I got it to trap 112 leaning out the fuel jet to get 11.8 afr's and playing with the timing to get it just right. I think he's right where he should be for his hp. Will he run a little better in cooler weather? Yeah all supercharged cars do.
