Launch Help... Please
Tomorrow I'm headed to the local Flaslight Drags. It's a local event held at the county airport. No it's not an actual drag strip and it's only 1/8th mile. There is no timer, just head to head racing and a win light. This will be my 3rd time to do run at the drags. It's not hardcore racing but it's fun.
My problem is that I can't keep from spinning the darn tires. I'm still running the factory PZERO NERO tires and I know their reputation. I spin through 1st gear and most of second. It's probanly more driver error than anything else. I have tried different launch RPMS but haven't figured it out yet. I have plans for future mods to help solve this problem... LCA relocation brackets Rims and DOT Drag Radials PRACTICE!!! ![]() But what can I do tomorro that will help? I always turn off the TCS and ESC, should I be? My current mods are in my signature. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. ![]() Thanks,

Give the tires a spin to clean them off, no need to heat them. Bring rpms at 3k slip the clutch as you mash. Pratice to know how much slip vs how hard you mash. This is a sweet spot if you maintain the 3k until you get full into it, most drivers hit too hard or slip too much and some slip not enough and cause the nose to drop and some choose a too high launch rpm on streets even on a prepped track. I have an auto for the first time in many years and miss being in full control/fault of the launch. Good luck and remember to have fun.
