1st run at the track

Last night I raced at the dragstrip for the first time of my life, I ran a 9.8 at 77 in the 1/8. It was about 40 degrees out and windy , I was happy with my first run ever considering my other 3 friends couldn't break 10's until they ran a few times in there cars, my car has ud pulleys, 75 mm throttle body, upper plenum, o/r h pipe, flowmaster mufflers, 315 sunitomos, cai, and 373 gears , so what do you think I should run, I ran without trac control and it's a 5 speed manual car... I know my times not the greater but I'll definitely be back , drag racing was one of the funnest things I've ever done!

What was the 60ft? Get some stickier tires and your time should improve alot. I ran a second faster my first time at a drag strip with similar mods.

you should be in the 8's no problem.

Practice, practice, practice and new tires will make a world of difference.
The drag strip is addicting, have fun and be safe.

Should be around a 8.9-9.1 on street tires

She has alot more in her, just need more practice...Also your trap speed of 77 seems a bit off w/ your mods. I would think you would be low 80's or so. Was she running ok?
