drag tires

ok so i am kinda a noob when it comes to drag tires. since i am mostly only familiar with rally. swedish folkrace, roadracing and motocross.

I was thinking, id like to get something that would help me greatly to do high rpm launches to get in some good times.

i am not interested in how the rims will look. just how cheap do you think you could get them for, with tires.

and what sizes would tires rim could i fit on my 02 gt ?

I would get either 315's or 275's In either a Mikey Thompson or a BFG

you could use your rim with drag radials.
the tires run 160 and up.
check with the vendors here. they have good prices

If your on stock rims still you can only fit a 275. Go with the MT et street drag radial, not the tube type. These will be the very best for you. They can still well enough to break your axles if your making that kind of power.

I daily drive MT E/T Streets on my 96 Cobra on 17" Cobra R wheels. Keep the air pressure at max for daily driving or your going to see the tread go to hell fast.

For the track, I love them. Absolutely amazing.

I don't daily drive the freeway, and I put maybe 20 miles a day on the car. The longest haul it ever does is no more than 100 miles to a strip.

I drove them in the rain a couple times with no problems. I'm not saying I'd love to do this, but I just got caught at work at the time and a storm rolled in out of nowhere. Personally, I got home just fine doing a pretty decent speed. However, I didn't test my luck and I didn't go over 40mph / never hit "standing water." (puddles, stuff I could hydroplane on, etc.) It wasn't downpouring either.

They are pricey, so if your daily driving them a zillion miles a day, I'd start looking at other options.

If I had to daily drive it more than I do, I'd definitely buy a spare set of back tires with tires that don't literally shed my money away everytime I drive on them.
