Aren't 3.73 and gears the same thing lol... And you should be winning. I spank lt1's all day long with my stock 3.27's. Now the ls1's are where I can't win... But that's obviously due to difference in horsepower stock to stock.

Since you 2 both have about the same mods (the throttle body and short shifter don't really do much for speed), the mustang would definitely win. The transam has nowhere near as much traction as we do stock, because they don't even have low-pro tires. But stock for stock, my friend's 01 trans am with the ls1 can't even keep up with mine.

I should probably add that his ls1 was a hell of a lot closer than an lt1.

Very little room for error.

If you havnt done so, you could tune for 93, that will get you some extra numbers, and isnt THAT bad on price.

Assuming he isn't an NHRA Drag racing champion, you should be fine with the mods you listed lol. Just don't miss 3rd! ask me how I know ):

275hp and 325lb/ft of torque and tip the scales at 3440lbs.... Your 260hp and 302lb/ft 3006lbs....

Stock for stock would be a good run, although LT's do respond to bolt on's a little better then 281's... You never said if he was a slush box or 6spd...

With the mods it will be a drivers race...

Only thing I can tell you is you need to practice. If you could get a set of stickier tires that would help also. But those aren't exactly cheap
