My gt vs my buddies 03 cobra?
Well me and my buddy been going back and forth about who will when. I wanted to see what you guys think. The race will take place at either a 1/8 mile track or 1/4 its undecided right now.
My Mods are full bolt on with cams and im installing a vortech v1 in the next week or 2. His mods are ported eaton 2.76 pulley sct MAF and big mouth single blade TB ported plenum and mid pipe and magnaflow cat back. I know all his mods because I put all of it on lol. He dynoed at 486rwhp. When I get my charger bolted up and tuned im looking for around 430rwhp at 8-9psi. Do you guys think with my weight advantage i could hold him back in the 8th mile or 1/4? Nether of us have drag radials or plan on getting any. I run low 13s now with street tires @104-105 He ran the 8th mile once and his best time on street tires was 8.2@91-92mph my best time in the 8th on street tires was 8.8@83-84mph both of us with a 2.2 60 lol

lol i know. he used to have a SC gt that was cammed he say there no way i can beat him.. but idk will see. Like i said i will be installing my kit maybe this weekend or next weekend.

i doubt you'll make 430 hp on 8 lbs of boost, maybe, depending on the dyno.
my built motor blower cam car with 413 hp and 450 rwtq (8 lbs boost) ran an 8.2 at 92 mph this summer. not that good of a run obviously, only a 1.9 60". getting the 60's in the the 1.6's will help tremendously.

If he is still IRS he has more weight. That and in the engine bay. Take your spare out, passenger seat out, back seat out...everything will help> If you are on slicks...and he isn't. Rape him out the hole and make him play catch up.
And for whats its worth. My cammed 2v went 8.2@83mph with 3.73s, no weight reduction save for a tubular K member...5 years ago. My ex wifes 2000 GT went 8.6@?? with H pipe, cat back, CAI and Underdrives. I don't see why you shouldnt be in the 7s on the blower.

You definitley could. Depends on the power you put down. Some people dont know how to drive Cobras to be honest. The cobra will have extra weight, its all power to weight ratio.

ok thanks guys. we will race and soon as i get everything installed and im going to post up a video. only thing i noticed is he suck at digs. so im going to take that as an advantage if i go ahead and get some tires
