got challenged by a GTO, wooooo hoooo!
my friend with the 06' gto challenged me last night to a race at the track tonight. im not sure if im gonna go. if i do, im pretty sure i could woop him, if i didnt have bad wheel hop. we're both on street tires and his only mod is exhaust. i have 255/40/17 used tires on the back right now and im replacing em with new 275/40/17 kuhmo ecsta's later today after work(no more long burnouts and doughnuts for me). i think he has 255 width tires on the back of his. i dont know if there's a significant traction difference between 255 and 275 width tires.
 how close do ya'll think the race would be?

ive got my shifting down pretty good. i havent missed a gear in the cobra yet cuz i dont do the really quick shifting anymore. i learned that lesson with my 5.0 back home. im on the third stock tranny in that one. now i know the t-56's can handle more abuse but I wanna try to make it last longer. i wish i could get off the line better. my 60' times have all been in the 2.0's

Yeah but you ahve to watch it with your car...Getting too much grip off the line can be bad for your half-shafts...

i wouldnt be surprised if it was closer than one would think, the LS2 gto's have trapped 108 stock
thats scootin in a 3800 lb N/A car

I beat an LS2 GTO with full exhaust, intake, dyno tune, and a 125shot. I have 420 rwhp in a 07GT stang.... you should be able to take him!

he didn't come to the track on that night when we were gonna race. but we finally raced from a dig about a week ago on a long road outside of town. we ran twice and I got him both times by about a car length. i was happy

I always love racing 03/04 Cobras because MOST of the time it is a drivers race. With the few Cobras i have raced, the cobra edges me out all the time. We started from a dig and i had a tiny lead all the way till about 100-110 and then they would edge me out, then the pull would stop again real fast. (STOCK vs STOCK). Same resaults with a roll. The only way i could win is if the Cobra had no "Driver Mod". Cobras are tough!!
