First 1/8 mile times
First time out in just about 30 years. First time at a 1/8 mile track. Car is totally stock with street tires. ( real street tires) and an automatic.
Best overall run: reaction time: .623 60' 2.126 330' 6.198 1/8 mile 9.500 1/8 mile speed 75.002 I did have a much better reaction time of .587 during 1st round but caught the other car and backed off only ran a 9.57 that time. Overall best 60' was a 2.105 So all in all I figure that wasn't too bad. |

So you were racing in a bracket your first time back to a drack strip after 30 years. WOW! Pretty brave, I don't think I would have even tried it!

Went back to the track this past weekend and did a double. I bought a set of Nitto 555's so I wouldn't go tearing up my street tires. I ran at Hertford (Northeast Dragway) on Sat. It was a lot cooler than last time so I am not sure how much was cool air and how much was tires but I had much better runs. The Nitto's don't spin at all on the launch, fells like you are pulling off from a stop sign.
Best run was Reaction time: .659 I know that sucks 60 ft. 2.046 330 ft 5.996 1/8 9.209 1/8 mph 76.895 Then went Sun to VMP weather was on the cool side and the best was: Reaction time: -.033 Trying to hard ![]() 60 ft. 2.033 330 ft. 5.983 1/8 9.199 1/8 mph 76.63 1000ft. 11.969 1/4 14.323 1/4 mph 95.44 All in all I thought it was a big improvment from the last time. If nothing else it wasn't a boring weekend. |

Im actually pretty impressed with your first 60' time. Thats pretty good. Im with you on r/t. I went to the track this past Saturday to try and improve my r/t but ended up getting suckered into running brackets. At least by the end of the day I had dropped my r/t to a consistant .305. Just takes lots of practice.

Went back to the 1/8 mile last Sat and won the Street Class. Did it the hard way, I didn't buy back at all. They let you buy back twice last weekend so it took 6 rounds of eliminations.
I got up Sun and was like a junkie needing a fix so I went to Richmond Dragway, ran their street & strip class. Made it all the way up to the semi's and ran out by .02 Went a 9.17 on a 9.19 dial off the throttle cause I had the other car beat. Bright spot was the .17 was the best run I've made so far. All in all it was a good weekend. 2 tracks/2 trouphys/$150.00/and a personal best run. Man I hope it don't rain this weekend.

The three .19's I ran earlier tied my previous best, so I really wasn't thinking I was in any danger of running out since I was off of it. Lesson learned.

That's not too bad. VMP is about that far from me. Hertford is about an hour away and thats the clostest.

oh, it sounded to me like you had a couple tracks relatively close. its just too far for me to go right now- not having a truck and trailer and all that.
