i think with a v6 and street tires you would be fine. I used to launch my 01 GT on ET streets at 5 grand side stepping the clutch with the stock rear end. Although I wouldn't reccomend it.

Ok you have Three differnt ways of releasing your clutch
- you have you normal every day driving way -slipping it is gradually releasing faster or slower depending on your current traction situation -sidestepping it is when instead of allowing your foot to come up with the pedal you move your foot to the left so there your foot doesn't act as a restriction |

so sidestepping is basically dumping the clutch?

I was dumping the clutch at 4000 with Nittos last weekend... and I am supercharged. but those street tires wont give you any kind of traction you need for this. I vote slip it.

You're going to have to slip the clutch. Those hard street tires are not going to hook. I have gotten some 1.9s out of stock Skaterbacks and have heard of even better times so you can get some decent times out of street tires. Drop a little air pressure and ride the clutch out. Alot will depend on the track prep as well.

air the front tires up to 45 psi, drop the rear down to 23, feather the clutch launching at 4500 rpms. If you can do it right you should be rewarded with some 1.8 60fts. i got a best of 1.79 with stock tires.

The 7.5 rear without welded axle tubes will be fine on anything but slicks. I have an auto and just launch at the converter on street tires, but lower the rear tire pressure and practice launches at varying rpms without varying pressures until you get a consistent low 60'

just dont do a burnout with your street tires. street radials make the track suck for everyone else whos running slicks becasue it pulls all of the vht up and balls up the rubber on the line. dont burnout, drive around the water box if you can. and feather clutch depending on how much traction and tire slippage is happening while your driving

just put it in 1st since your a 6er and hold the clutch in. rev it up, and drop the clutch and immidiatly stomp the bralke pedal. you can also do it like your hell toe shifting where youve got your heel on the brake and oe on the gas(right foot) and the left on the clutch and basically do it the same way. rev it and drop the cluth

you press the brakes and it locks the front brakes and keeps the rear open so you dont have to worry abut grabbing the brake real quick. this is in the plans for me in the near future!!
