Low 8's is mid 12's for my Mach... In the switch from the street tires to drag radials that will include a chance to drive more at the track and be a better driver with his car. The only difference in his car and mine is the rear gears and upper and lower control arms. I think he can get to low to mid 8's easily with sime drag radials. But that's just me and what I've learned from driving my car...

I ran 275 M/T drag radials on my stock rims. I don't think it's a good idea to get any larger tire on an 8" rim, although there is a guy on here that somehow stuffed a 315 on a stock rim. Looked goofy to me though.

If you buy an extra set of rims don't bother going wider, get some 15 x 8 light weight aluminum rims and some 245 M/T ET's for the track. There's a good chance that any decent drag radial could break or bend your stock axles though. I twisted mine on 275 drag radials...

one more thing.

when should i be shifting.. hpt guys told me i shifted so slow .. i guess bc i ran the gears out just below redline. i felt good power up to redline so thats how i ran it. and usually do when i race..

where exactly should the shifts be taking place?

I really suck at paying attention to the exact point of when I shift, something I need to work on. I usually try to around 6800.... Our cars red line at 7 so if you start the shift at 6800 and do it really fast then by the time you let the clutch back out it will be just a little higher in the RPM's and that much better for the next gear. There is a good sequence of when to shift on the Mach 1 registry... I don't know where to find it though. Try a search or just ask someone on there.

I still thing that 4.30 gears and upper/lower control arms will be your best bet, after new tires of course. If you do get new upper and lowers get the adjustable uppers so you can set your pinion angle to -1*, that will be your best bet for a daily driver and occasional trip to the track.

I don't think so. The M/T's are a better track tire than the Nitto's and it took a while for mine to finally twist.

That's why I'm glad I don't have any locking lugs... Just keep it in the garage. There's a few ways to get it off, some cheap that will break things, and some will cost you money and a trip to the local stealership.

yeah.. that was me.. you can fit 315s but its not any better than 275 cuz all of the tire is not touching.. i would just buy wheels and then put big tires on them...

Yeppers, 8" front and rear. AFS has a great selection of OEM style rims, but in wider sizes.

if you didn't get that key yet you can also get a socket that is close to the same size and hammer it on and take it off that way. i've had to do that for a buddy before. works fine, but will most likely ruin your socket. i'm also a big fan of the ET Streets. you can use them on the street if you need to, but not in the rain. i do mean NOT IN THE RAIN

i have mine on a set of stock V6 rims 26x10x16. drop it at 5 grand and they hook like hell with 15psi.
