Mach goes to the track
taking the mach 1 for its first track runs ( with it in my posession)
Hoping to dip into the 8's being stock . my old trans am stock ran a 8.8 and it was automatic. and i beat a 6 speed trans am by a length so .. I should atleast hit 8.6-8.7 results and possibly a video tonite

On stock tires I'm guessing you'll see very high 8's... With stock tires and 4.30 gears my first time at the 1/8th mile track I ran 8.8's and one 8.7...

if its street tires you'll probably honestly not have the best time
launching at 2000rpm or lower on street tires if i launched at 1800rpms and dumped the clutch i'd spin i think you'll see 8.7-8.9

8.9 was my best.
spun like hell first and second, swapped my bald back tires with my front bran new ones.. same issue. i ran 8.9-10.30's all in between. almost wrecked my first run when i hit second the ass end kicked around.. gay i need slicks...

Yessssssss. Where's my prize?
Those times are very normal for a nearly stock Mach and first time driver at a drag strip. Some good drag radials and practice you'll be seeing low 8's.

usually switching from street to drag tires will knock off about .3-5 in the 1/4 mile taking off a full second...is hard so chopping .6+ off in the 1/8 will be hard unless his 60s were like 2.6

with spinning you'll spin first then you'll see you'll switch to second fast but notice when you finally hook in second or third it takes longer to get through that gear you dont need slicks for you car. ET street or Nitto 555r or BFGs will have you hooking fine

links of what?
and ive been there before on street tires ive gone from launching at 1700rpms and still spun and with a 2.1 60' i see the best coming outta the mach is 1.8 60' which will probably get you 8.6

links to the tire reccomendation
right now im running 275-40-17's all the way around eh i think i can get a 8.5 if i didnt spin half the track.. if i could just not spin.. when ide take off i wouldnt spin until it got in the high rpms thats when it would break loose. and when ide hit second it would kick sideways and then continue spinning until i let completely off the gas. it felt like it had just sprinkled rain on the track and then they sent me down through there and told me there was a supercharger waiting for me at the other end...

yea i know how it is =/ gives you a horrible day at the track. your too pissed to care about having fun
i used to do that but you learn not to especially when you drive an hour and a half to the 1/4 instead of the 1/8 that sucks near you(well for me) i got 13.1 @ 106.99 mph i know im good for 12s but last night my 60s werent hot 2.1 but i had fun so just thats FIRST is to have fun...idk if you'll notice but the more you get mad its like the worse you do...for me at least if you drive street a lot and rarely go to the track go to americanmuscle.com and grap a set of nitto tires..i run the 275/40/17 in the rear and i like them. i'd launch harder if i had a 8.8 rear though with those i'd say burn out till you get a lil smoke then stop.. like once you see smoke in your mirror count to 2 then stop. they need a lil bit of warming to hook good. the longer you warm them the better drop tire pressure down to about 18psi and try launching at like 3500 with those at first i recommend americanmuscle causethe free shipping and anything i can get from them i'll get they get my vote for awsome shipping and good prices for sure nitto 555r

i luanch at 4k on the track and dead hook with 315/35/17 nitto nt555r's. a lot of my buddies use et streets and do well.. i like nittos.. go to discounttiredirect.com. i got my 555rs for 354 shipped. with drag radials and some practice you should see some 1.7, 1.8 60' times... my last decent 60' vs mph vs et slips my 60' was in the high 1.8s
