Kicked Azz At Buick - Ford Shootout!

12th Annual Buick vs. Ford at our local track. Ford was up 6 to 5 and word had it that the Buick boys brought in some out of state ringers to even the score. They came up short. We won 37-33.

I qualified with a 12.8 @ 108. Raced a GN in my match. Treed him and killed him in the 60 and was able to hold him off on the big end. My new personal best 12.63 @ 109.32 (altitude adjusted to 12.32 @111.97) 04 Mach 1 naturally aspirated.

Steven couldn't make it because he was working. Man, you really missed a good one. The track was hookin' like a mother since the NHRA big boys had been there the day before. I know my car has a bit more in it since my 60' is less than steller on ET drags.

Details: pro tree
R/T .280
60' 1.784
1/8 8.113
MPH 86.83
1000 10.565
1/4 12.63
MPH 109.32

Man those are some really great times. I am looking forward to giving it a shot myself sometime soon. Did you take any pics of the show? Would be great to see some racing pics.

There are some floating around our local Mustang board. I will try and post a few up here. I had a buddy vid my 1st qualifying run but I was taking it easy and only posted a 13.4. Hopefully, somebody from our club got my run in the finals.

I was really pumped about my times. I would like to post a 12.5 before the season closes. I have some work to do over the winter and the N2O may find its way on her. It should go 11.50-11.70s with the juice. Not bad for a bolt-on 4V.

There were several 8-9 second grandma powered Buicks out there. The Grand Nationals with upgraded turbos and intercoolers will run 11-12s all day long. Not too shabby for V6.

Here are a few vids from our local board. I can't view youtube from work so hopefully all the links work. Mine is still pending.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnY5ATx7Kqk

The last one has some interesting commentary on it from what I have been told. The camera was going dead since it was the last race of the day so I don't know how much is there. The Buick red lighted and the Mustang almost caught him. The pic is of the 2 cars in the burnout box for the last vid.

//I pulled the last link due to questionable language on it. I was not able to view it at work when I made the post. My apologies if it offended anyone.

ralphs car is a badass. that was his first run on his new motor with n2o. it went 11.20 all motor the week before and went the mid with a 150 shot. they said they are gonna go up to tulsa next week and hes gonna put the 250 pill in and see if he cant get an 8 sec 1/4. would be pretty badass for a stret car that he drives pretty reguraly. wish i would have been able to make it but i guess work comes first.

I only launched it about 5000 because the clutches in the differential are starting to give out. I am going back to the track at least a time or 2 before I tear it down this winter.

We are planning a trip possibly November 18th up to TRP. Can you make it?
