GT500 curb weight equals 3920 lbs.

Curb weight is the total weight of a vehicle with standard equipment, all necessary operating consumables (such as motor oil and coolant), a full tank of fuel, and not loaded with either passengers or cargo.

So, if his dad weighs more than179.99 ounds, he is over 4100 lbs. with a full tank and nothing else in the car.

i RARELY ever see a GT-500 hit low 12s...only one i know of and that was VMP tuning which i believe he tuned the car for the run..

i'd say its a drivers race with GREAT favor to the 2v.
GT-500s are slow for 500hp
I dont know how it all breaks down, but on a 12.65 run my 1/8 was like 8.4 or something, thats what im baseing that its low 12 run on, especially i would think on the bottle and the fact that the 2vs are more top end then low end. but i could be wrong. I guess it would depend on a lot of factors such as gears and so forth.

the track experience is what is going to count. I have been to road raceing schools, defensive drivers training and high speed drivers training countless times for my career in life. I also have litterally over a million miles behind the wheel of automobiles, they only people with more seat time then me are truck drivers i think. All that doesnt equate to a lot when your talking experience launching a car like the gt500 for the 1/4 mile. Like i said, I have see them do 14s all night. with older people who also were "good drivers" behind the wheel. My money is on you if you can bang a 8.1 1/8 and if your dad has never drag raced at that track, and especially if he never raced the gt500. either way it should be real fun raceing the old man.

Yea I'll take every chance I can get to beat him in anything lol. Before I race him i'm pretty sure i'll have some control arms installed and my swaybar disconnected so that will help too.

dude in general GT-500 is SLOW for 500hp. because of its weight
but thats not an excuse
the GTO is slow for 400hp because its weight

a 500hp car that sees mostly high 12s is sad
i cant think of ANY MUSTANG with 500hp that would run slower then that. yes 500hp at the crank. to be nice 400rwhp mustang i've never seen run so slow that didnt have a crappy driver

that's true as well but nonetheless it's about the same race.

are you running with your nitrous or without? without you are going to get fucked up, with it it will be nice.

Nitrous for sure. ^^^High 8s sounds good. I've been running low 8s consistently with the 100 shot.
