Sticky Liquid???

Hey guys, I got a no0b question.

A friend from work swore that liquid stuff the spray on the drag strip is to make the car do burnout easier? is that true?

I was and still am under the impression that, that stuff make the track stickier so you get a better launch? Am I right?

What is that stuff call, he wants to see proof, he believe that it makes it easier to spin your tires.

Thanks

Your friend is right as well, they do spray stuff to make burnouts easier and to clean your tires so you don't drag crap onto the track. It's called water.

VHT is sprayed at the starting line and beyond to promote traction.

It doesn't matter how powerful your car is, if you have slicks or drag radials you should use the water box. It does help to clean any debris off the tires so the next racer doesn't pick it up. Those tires pick up stones like they're drag strip swiffers. If you watch NHRA drag racing, even the top fuelers use the water box. Also, it makes the burnout easier to do so there is less stress on the drivetrain while doing a burnout.

I'm sorry if my last response sounded smart-assed, I meant no disrespect.
