started drag project help me out

well i was driving my 1988 5.0 lx for a d.d for a month or so and it has nnow become my street/strip car. my goals for the ca are mid to low 9's high 9's are duable. well i started stripping it today,(rear seats, carpet) and soon to come will be a 500hp 351w witha built c4 and a built stock rear end. im going to strap a 300-400shot of spray on it so that why i was looking at only 500hp n/a hp. i will only drive the car on occasional weekends and to the track everynow and then. i alreayd have a fiberglass hodd and will continue stripping the h**l outta it. the car has full suspension work done now but i will upgrade to adjustable drag shocks in the rear and maybe upgrade my existing 3.73s to 4.10s when everythign is done dependng on what you guys think. but my question is with this setup i should be able to run consistent 9's in street trim correct? if yall have any suggestions please help. Thanks Gregg

300-400 shot? That's a lot. Other than that it sounds great.

you wont need a 300-400 shot to do that. with a 500rwhp car, weighing in at and est. 2900 with driver, a 200 shot on sould get you in that range. a good stall will be needed, slicks, cage, etc.

+1 you might consider a trans brake and a 2 or 3 step to really get you off the line 60' times will greatly be reduced
