terrible driver or not?anyway whats up with the first time slip? it says "foul" but i didn't jump any faster than he did and if i was over the line a little then it couldn't bump my time up to more than 9.3 anyway, i don't get why it says 1.6 for me and 2.3 for him when he was ahead the whole time except for over halfway down the track. help? is this 9.2 legit? i'm not so sure because the mph for the faster 9.2 time is slower than the 9.8 time. also has no reaction time the dragstrip was awesome fun but it seemed hard to concentrate on the launch. like i can't even hear my own car (good excuse for exhaust). P.S. WHAT KIND OF 1/8TH MILE TIMES SHOULD A STOCK 04 GT BE RUNNING!? (assume good driver) pics of time slips (rotated and saved on photobucket but it didn't work) 2nd run...9.2 ![]() first run against 5.0 ![]() 5.0 mustang ![]() buddies camaro. notice he has a reaction time. no "foul" and his 2.3 to my 1.6 (even though he was ahead till over halfway down track)

so whats up with that "I1" time?? i couldn't have jumped that much...so does this mean that the 9.2 isn't far from what i actually ran? (had i not jumped)
i would take 9.4

ok i was not thinking when i posted earlier.
i forgot that the time doesn't start till you go so it wouldn't have mattered if i jumped...i mean it wouldn't have affected the ET. i still have doubts that its correct though because the trap speed is lower than the 9.8 time and the "I1" time is crazy. anyway, i'm goin to the dragstrip tommorrow.

went to the 1/8th mile tonight and ran several times. this was my best time...and it still bogged a little before it picked back up...i think if i had the rpm's just a tad higher it wouldn't have bogged quite as much but it wouldn't have been enough to spin the tires and i could've maybe taken a tenth of a second off the e/t.
anyway i'm pretty happy with this time.

the first two runs (last week) were at greer...
but i'm now in mooresville, NC during the week for school...so the last runs (the 9.4) were at the mooresville dragway. google said mooresville is 900 ft. above sea level...thats not that much is it? i'll be running at mooresville since dragstrip is open on thursdays and thats where i am on thursday.

that first post might be the hardest post to to read on this site. and also your tracks breakdown of times really sucks. its hard to figure out exactly what is what.
your 60 foots arent very good, so come off of those a little and the times will get better 1/10 in the 60 foot is about 2/10s in the 1/4 mile. |

oh and you bogging is killing you too. you need to launch just enough to where the tires are spinning a little bit. if its too high youll blow em away and if its to low youll bog. but when you get it just right, youll feel it and see it on the timeslip

the last run i spun just a tad but then when i caught traction (after the little bit of spinning) it felt like the front let back down and bogged a little. either way i took off good with just a little spinning and it was still just a 2.2 60 ft. my car is bone stock.
should i be feathering the clutch or just launching at a good rpm to where it doesn't bog or spin too much? these were my first times at the track.

might throw on a nitto drag radial and youd be good to go. you should be able to get into the 1.90s on stock tires. you just have to keep playing with things untill you find what works out best for your car. what works for me, might not work out for you

holy crap 1.90's? i've definitely got some work to do then. lets just see if i can get down to 2.00 for now
![]() i think i am gonna try the launch technique before i try slipping the clutch. i get too anxious waiting on the lights to slip the clutch but if i could launch i'd be alright. i can tell you that i won't be doing anymore burnouts though. i don't think it actually helps and it wore off a lot of tread (since i ran eight times ) wasn't thinkin bout it lol. but that just means that i'll be buying new rear tires sooner and maybe i will try the DR if they aren't too expensive. just sucks that they don't last too long.

i'd love to have some 80 degree weather. try 120 over here.
but really you want to do a very small burn out to get all the rocks and crap off the tires. nothing major though.
