New Best Time

A couple of buddies and me went up to Tulsa Raceway Park on Saturday for test n tune. The weather was beautiful, 50* with no wind and sunny skies.

Ran a best of 12.55 @ 109.28 with a 1.71 60'. I need to rebuild my differential or upgrade to a locker over the winter.

ANd N/A for that matter...Throw some giggle juice on it and shoot for 11's...

I have an NX kit but was waiting to see what times I could get NA. This is the 3rd season racing my Mach. This year was the first for gears, slicks and long tubes. It really woke it up. I may throw the juice on there but am considering a tubular k and skinnies to see if I can get close to 12.0 These runs were on worn ET drags with stocker wheels/tires on the fronts.

A buddy with an 03 Mach went also. He has a ported intake, FR500 cam kit, forged internals and all bolt-ons. We raced twice and split. The only reason I beat him was I treed him and got a much better 60' time. I had a 12.7 @ 109 and he had 12.5 @ 117!!!! That is NA, no juice no boost. There were several FI Fox cars out there running similar mph in the 11s. He completely blew his clutch on the next run. It had been slipping all day. We limped it most of the way home before it completely went out and had to call a wrecker. Had a hard time getting anyone to tow it because it was a lowered Mustang and they were afraid of the liability. Finally got it towed and back home around 9:00.

congrats rob. ill let you bowwor my skinnies next time ya go out. anyways hella good runs and nice to see that your getting faster every time you go out!!!! im gonna spank that machs ass though next time now that i can finally luanch my stanger. lol. just playing hella nice car youve got. i cant wait till you throw on the n2o that thing is gonna be a badass!!! i can see mid to low 11s for the mach.

Damn those are nice times! It gives me something to look forward too someday. I just can't find the time to get out to the track. What brand long tubes did you go with? I need to look into some of those.

Thanks for the kind words guys. It has taken a while to put it all together but she is running like a mofo now. I doubted you Steven when you saw me run the first time this year on slicks and told me the car had mid 12s in it. I will give it up to you as you predicted this.

I went with Hooker because I got a hella deal on them. They were stainless 1 5/8" primaries with a 3" slip collector. I had them ceramic coated to keep the heat down. I am running the matched ceramic o/r x. The long tubes really woke it up and pulls like a beast now above 6000. I have heard good things about Kooks and SLP altough I wouldn't hesitate to put BBKs on. They are the ones I was looking at but got the Hookers for the same price. Drgnracing72 has the BBKs on his car with SLP catback and it sounds nasty.

Bring it on out Steven, lets see what you can do.

I could have beaten the 2 GT500s that were at the track on Saturday if we would have gotten lined up. They were on street tires and must have been newb drivers because they running 12.8s - 13.5s all day.

yeah i must admit tht im a badass when predicting. i told you ti would go mid 12s and boom you do what i say and boom mid 12s. hahahaha just playin around. nut hell ya it runs hard. i need to get a couple a track days befor ew e line em as its been along time since ive made a pass on some slicks. anyways i get the skinnies when we run em!!!! and im gonna spank that 4v with my little 2v!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahahahahaha

Hopefully, we can get out the TV before the end of the season. If not, the track reopens in February. Gotta love Oklahoma winters.
