01 GT Vert went 13.5 @ 108 mph last night with N20/intake/exhaust

yea, my first time ever running any vehicle with nitrous on it, but i gotta tell ya, it is addictive lol. all the car has is an intake, exhaust, and the NX 75 wet shot kit. i think i could probably get a 13.2 if i could get a better '60 ft. i wasn't spinning at the track, but i have an AOD with a factory stall, so all i get are 2300 rpm brake stand launches. anyone know how to launch an automatic pretty well? i think i am doing it about as best as i can tho.

13.5 1/4
2.3 60 ft
108 mph trap

yeah work on the 60' ft and you'll definitely be golden and you will pull down that time a bit.

yea, but that is if i could get my launches better. really curious if there is any other way to launch an AOD as close as i can to 3000 RPM's w/o needing a stall converter...

on a new edge auto it's better to go down than up with a stock converter (aprox. 900-1000 works best for me,just enough to preload the suspension)if you try to go as high as you are the computer sees a problem with load & gets confused ( high load,no road speed ) & starts to pull fuel & timing untill you let off or launch (but once you launch it takes time to catch up). sounds confusing but if you have a way to data log it you'll see it ( just about wore out my predator data logging launches before I caught on ). moral to the story, get a higher stall converter & gears or try leaving at a much lower rpm than you are. lastly no you can't get anything like 3000 from a stock converter period.

108 is a very high trap speed. it is fun and addictiong. stickier tires and practice will get you well into the 12's.

Keep practicing man like everyone else has told you, you deffinitely have better times capable looking at yur trap speed. What NX kit do you have? The 2v plate kit or the nozzle?

thanks for all of the responses guys. i also forgot to mention that i had a severely busted belt on my front passenger side that was bouncing worse than a basketball, so im sure now that i dont have that problem, it will bring my time down some as well. i also have some meatier street tires on the back. 255/55/17's now. is a 13.5 really high for a GT vert w/intake, exhaust, 75 shot and a 2.3 60' ft time? one of my buddies with an '03 cobra seems to think i may possibly have aftermarket gears as well. someone give me some feedback please.

12s should be easy with a better 60'
2.3----.1 off your 60 is roughly .2-3 off your 1/4 easy
figure a 2.0 slip shuld have you at least 12.9s
but a 108 trap with slicks and skinnies is good for mid 12s no doubt

i'm thinking that i may be running a bigger shot than i originally thought. it has to be either that or i have gears. there is no way a 75 shot would put me in high-mid 12's with a 2.0 60' time and intake/exhaust... is there???

you also gotta remember that he had an entire suspension makeover including front coil-overs and a tubular front suspension and was also running on big and skinny prostars w/ slicks. he also sprayed str8 out the hole

I've ran 12.4 at 108 before. U have a hell of a trap speed for an auto 2v vert with a 75 shot so congrats. Get some good dr's and you will see high 12's. Then spray 100 or 125 and go 110 plus.
