Finally broke into the 13's!

So i finally got my launch down and got used to the nitto drag radials and i finally made it into the 13's with my mostly stock 03 GT. I was so happy once i pulled it off. My best of the night was a 13.86 @ 100.87 mph.

I was launching at 3k and was almost dead hooking each time. i had just a tad of wheel spin, just enough to keep me from breaking anything in my rear. I was getting pissed because i was still running 14.1's with the nittos (the same times i was running with my street tires) but i just kept practicing and didnt give up. The things that seemed to help me the most were doing a very shallow stage, almost to the point where the 2nd light was just flickering and also id do a nice burnout until id start seeing some decent smoke and then id continue about 4 seconds more to get them really sticky. I actually really like the nittos after i finally figured how to use them. They need a nice long burnout and 18psi seemed to work best for me with a 3k launch.

MODS:
stock rear and gears
mgw shorthrow shifter
slp loudmouth catback
JLT cai
UDP'S
gutted trunk with rear seat delete
275/40/17 nitto dr's
maximim motorsports cc plates
h&r supersport springs
tokico illumina shocks and struts

I have frpp 4.10's, moser 31 spline axles and a detroit trutrac differential sitting in my room waiting to be installed lol. I just wanted to break 13's with what i had to prove that i could do it before i get everything else installed lol.

that would make such a difference man and hey do you have a tune on your car becuase if you dont if i was you that would be my next step after the gears, axles and diff so you can tune your car with the gears in it to change your speedo. Sct Xcal 3 tuned by brenspeed or sum1 else.

your car can run 13.5s like it sits now.... all you gotta do is get 60' down... if you can cut a 1.8x you should see 13.5-13.6's

Yeah, its going to feel like a totally different car when i get it istalled and actually you guessed my next mod. Im actually going to get a xcal3 from brenspeed until i have it dynotuned locally once i get the nitrous. The car is going to run 12's n/a thats the goal but im going to have to get big and littles and keep practicing my launch to get my 60' down some more.

When did you sell the ranger dude? I miss your mach 1 so much, i wish you wouldnt have sold it . Btw i need to head up to Stafford soon, its been awhile since ive seen you guys .

Yeah i know, i almost cut a 1.9 60' but 1.8's are going to be hella hard lol, i might have to try launching at a higher rpm. Im thinking about getting the msd 2-step to help with consistency and my 60's.

ran 13.0 with..... profession products 75mm tb and plunum, bbk cai, cheap v6 convertible subframe connectors welded in, hypertech programmer, upr shifter, o/r x with magnapacks, 3.73 gears, nittos, lowering kit, rear seat delete but a speaker box took its place so it was probably actually a little heavier than seat... thats about it... oh yeah.. and no front sway bar and spec 3 clutch. ran 13.0@104 with a 1.86 60'

Okay lol thats better and much more beleivable. I was like there is no way he could run a 13.0 with boltons and the stock 3.27 gears.

i dont really know.. i know it has springs on it.. i think it might be drag springs.... tockico shocks. no sway bar.. but it cut the same 60' the other night as my other car with stock gears and it wasn't even close to spinning... before 4k launch was spinning a little... i dont wanna launch there now cuz it wont even chirp the tires it just dead hooks.... dont wanna break rear.. that will be rebuilt soon anyways.. ha. it should cut some 1.7 60's on motor... hopefully..

it also has some massive full length subframe connectors... the car used to be supercharged and it actually used to be pretty fast... so it still has some of the goodies from when it was pretty fast.. lol. which by new years im hopin ill be as fast as it can be without putting internals in it... shootin for some 11.5s
