New best time (really need tires)

Went to Redline 1/8 mile track on Sunday and ran a new best time of 8.83.

Stock rear 235/50-18's are almost worn down in the middle now and I'm really needing tires. My best 60' is about 2.17 launching just above idle and rolling onto the gas to keep from spinning, and I'm spinning bad when I shift into 2nd gear, so I'm losing time due to traction.

How much would some Nitto 555R's help my time, and how high RPM could I launch with the drag radials?

I'm all stock except the CAI & tune, 5-speed with 3.55. What sort of 1/8 times do you think I could get with Nitto drag radials?

Good times for what you have. You should be able to drop the 60' to around 1.8 with the dr's.

With the mods in my sig I run 1.83 60 ft on the Nitto DR. Not bad for street tires, I was running 2.1 60 ft and a best 8.7 1/8 mile on street tires. Then sank down to 8.2's in the 1/8 when I got the DR.
