does it matter if the car is a V6 automatic? what about the gears? would that affect the anything else? will there be any problems maybe in the longrun? or is this procedure nothing but an upgrade?

Since this thread is already here, here's my question:

Do all GT 8.8s have T-lok? Or is there something I need to look for to make sure that I have it when I pull one to swap it for my 7.5?

the foxes to have t-lok

but more now are in bad shape so a new t-lok will be needed for them. but most 8.8 rear ends will fit your stang if its off of a GT or fox

I too am looking into just replacing the whole rear end and plan on going to a junk yard this weekend. What parts will I need to get? I've got a 2000 v6 stang, I was just planning on pulling the whole rear axle, I don't know about what else I'd need. Since it's an 8.8 and the one I have now is a 7.5 what else do I need to change to make it fit, drive shaft? Also would it be possible to install new gears with the rear end out and be able to align it all like this? Thanks

hey chris T, I just got a quote back from (pst) performance shaft technologies. A carbon fiber drive shaft for our cars is $585 before shipping and weighs 6 pounds and can take 2400lb's of torque. Thats the one i'mma get. They have aluminum ones on their site as well
