Tranny problems.

Well who hasn't heard about my tranny problems. For those that haven't well here it goes:

99-00 v6 auto

First off the thing downshifts like a mac truck. I can pretty much feel every gear transition. 4-3, 3-2, 2-1. 2-1 is quite hard. It can be described as a snapping noise and a slight hesiation kinda pushes me into my seat almost before the noise. The noise basically signifys that my pos is in the lower gear it downshifted into..

Now comes the up shifting. Between 1-2 sometimes it goes to shift and takes a while goes in gear smoothly but it stays at like 3000 rpms driving moderatly for a while before the shift then it rolls over into gear. Now with my 2-3rd shifts its just terrible. When it goes to shift driving normaly it seems like it just kicks me out of gear and I can stomp the guess as hard as I want reving as if in nuetral then eventually it finds a gear and kinda "kicks" into place.

PRob mostly my torque converter... but I figured it could be part of my tranny to maybe. What would anyone suggest I do. have it get looked at first. Funds aren't a problem. But the most I'm willing to spend is just to replace the stock tranny.

btw whats my stock tranny again 4r70w something like that lol.

get your fluid and filter changed. your tranny will feel like new 97% of tranny issues can be solved by fresh fluid

Well I mean Do you honestly think it would rid of all those things I mentioned? I mean its a lot physical motion this bitch is causing. I guess I could try it. I know the fluid is at level and crystal clear. But I guess it wouldn't hurt. I'm still open to opinions.

you would be surprised how differently an auto tranny will act with fresh fluid. this is also the cheapest thing to start with so i suggest you do it. id also look into soggy tranny/motor mounts and u-joints.

i would try a product to help the slippage like lube gaurd. i work at a NAPA store and 1 shop in paticular loves it. lube gaurd is expensive but it could solve it along with the new fluid, make sure to get the green stuff that is made for mercon v though if you try it. and i would try sea foam trans tune to flush it to. its supposed to be as good as the regular sea foam is to engines.
