I would have said 275s, I don't think 315s would even fit, would they?

245 is probably the skinniest for a safe road worthy 9" rim. 275 is common for rear, but you could put a 315mm tire out back, but it will be about 3" wider than the rim is... i would go with a 275 or a 305 tops.

ya on a 9" rim they would have to be nittos. the 315 nitto drags are narrower and can fit 9" wide rims. the termi guys do it all the time

245 45 up front
then 275 45 in back 45 is your height (profile)

you are correct. go with a 40% sidewall height to a 275mm width

do the math:

.45*245=110.25mm
.40*275=110.00mm

.25mm is negligible on a total height of 2*110+wheel height in mm

e.g. 17"=431.79999999999995mm

so 431.79999999999995+220=651.8mm as opposed to 652.05mm.

thats a difference of 0.00984251968503937"

(1 psi tire pressure can account for a greater difference than that)

Yes the do. For some reason on another the nitto555 315s seem a little "smaller". Aren't the nittos more friendly too(water/treadwear)? I'm not sure on that one.
