Popping out of 2nd

Everytime i downshift my car into 2nd it pops out. It never does this when im just shifting.. only when i downshift and lose speed... does anybody know what this might be and what i can do to fix it?

bent fork or bad synchro....does it grind? synchros generally help control gear mesh only. possibly bad shifter

forks don't bend, they break and he would have problems in another besides 2nd if that were the case.

Syncros or excessive play in the shafts.

if the syncro goes bad, is the blocking ring bad too or is it all the same part?

it depends on how th synchro went bad...is it de-bonding or just wearing the teeth...

Blocker rings are part of the synchronizer assembly and they are the most common failure because they are made of bronze. If you open up a case and see goldish-bronze metal shavings, then you definately know what failed.

you may just need to take the shift boot off and adjust the "stop" bolt on the shifter.
