1. jack front of car up and put on stands

2. remove cover over clutch fork. it is on the drivers side of the trans

REMEMBER THE WAY THE STOCK CABLE IS ROUTED!!!

3. get end of cable out of fork
(i personally use a pry bar to get the fork to move foward)

4. pull the cable out of the mounting spot on trans

5. get under dash and unhook the cable from stock quadrant

6. un screw the little set screw that holds cable to firewall and pull

7. the cable has a mounting spot on the frame, un bolt it and the cable should come right out. (8or10mm i believe)

8. now the quadrant is ready for removal

9. grab a pair of needle nose pliers and remove the 2 clips that hold the quadrant

10. remove the stock quadrant, springs, and whatever else is there. its been a while since i pulled my stocker, i cant remember what all is there. i do remember it was a pain in the ass and it took me a while to wrestle the stock quadrant out.

11. install new quadrant, secure it with the stock clips

12. slide new firewwall adjuster in place.

13. use set screw to secure it (the upr has a set screw on the bottom as well, you will need to drill a small hole and install it)

14. pull off the black rubber cover off the end of the new cable (non adjustable end)

15. slide the end of the cable into the firewall adjuster (non adjustable end)

16. route the new cable the exact same way the stock cable was routed. very important to route the same way. if its routed wrong, binding, hard clutch, etc may occur

17. slide the cable thru the mount on trans

18. fasten the cable braket to the frame. it may need some modifyin, carressing into place, persuasion, etc to get it right but it will be just fine.

19. get under dash and put end of cable to which ever hook you want it hooked to on quadrant. you can use a piece of tape to hold it in place if needed. i pesonally use the middle.

20. slide under the car, pull clutch fork toward the front of car, pull cable tight, and adjust the nuts on the end of cable to get correct length. now pull the fork foward and reinstall the cable. this may take a couple time to get right, not a big deal. you will have to make all the adjustments with cable off fork, the mounting spot on for is too small for socket or anything. there will be a little bit of play and that can be pulled out with the firewall adjust er

21. double check the cable and make sure it is still mounted on quadrant.

22. at the firewall adjuster. pull on the cable to show slack, adjust the fire wall adjuster out to get rid of most of the slack. leave about 1/16 slack in cable

23. sit in car and see how clutch pedal feels, a little dead (cable not holding up clutch pedal) pedal is normal and nesseccary.

24. if it feels pretty close, reinstall the cover over the clutch fork

25. lower the car

26. start the car while out of gear, push the clutch pedal, put in gear, and make sure it goes in gear smootly. if not, the cable needs to be tightened a little at fire wall adjuster.

27. slowly bring the pedal off the floor and see where the clutch starts to grab. if it is not grabbing till the pedal is high, then the cable is too tight and can cause slipping/premature wear on clutch. loosen at fire wall adjuster.

28. clutch wear, personal preference, etc will determine over all adjustments and feel. after all installation is done, all adjustments should be done at firewall.

thanks sweet..excellent stuff...

so it turns outs, the noise my car has been making is the plastic 2 peice quadrant is completely broken..causeing a squeaking noise and clutch peddle chattering...

we re-used stock clutch because we felt there was no point on using the steeda adjustable clutch and we couldnt figure out how to get that rubber peice on the end of the cable off...so we used the upr quick release quadrant, and the firewall adjuster...dad has the car out now hes "getting gas" so i will know the results when he comes home.. thank you sweet again for that info..it was much easier to follow than the maximum motorsport write up...

there are 4 little clips that help hold it on, so it may be a pain in the ass to slide off.

I used a pair of wire cutters to clip those plastic nubs off. Rubber came right off with no hassle.
