Back in the saddle
I recently acquired a 1997 cobra, a pretty nice upgrade from my 1983 GT. It has 136k on it so it needs some TLC but since I've been outta the game for some years now I've found that things have changed quite a bit and I feel somewhat overwhelmed. The car was supposed to be a ready to roll daily driver, however, the night I drove it home (100 miles) I noticed a few issues. There is quite a bit of play in the steering...and I mean a lot! I was told by one mechanic that I needed inner tie rods and a complete rack and pinion by another. My speedo doesn't work and my backup lights won't go off and it idles at about 3k when the heat is on and to top it all off it sometimes grinds when I shift. Any thoughts?
