sub and amp install

I just got a 12 inch sub and a amp and I was wondering how to install it? I went a few places and they all want like 100 bucks to do it so I figured I'd do it myself. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Do you mean like physically running wires through your vehicle for your amplifier and subs? you'll need a amp wiring kit for one thing. probably an 8ga will do with just one 12". Youll need to be able to run the power wire through the firewall. if your comfortable with getting behind your HU and running wires around the footwell and under the door sills then you should be fine.

ok yeah I was just wondering where I need to connect all the wires and how to run them from the amp to the sub. Also where can you get one of the wiring kits?

You might be able to find a fairly cheap 8 or 5ga wiring kit at walmart for like 30-40$ but make sure it has the Power wire, ground wire, rca's, remote wire, and extra speaker wire. You for sure can find the a good rockford fosgate kit at either circuit city or best buy but your looking at $100-$150. if it was me and you are able to i'd get one from ebay. they are phenomenally cheaper. heres one for $27 shipped.

You'll want to run the power wire for the amp on one side of the car say down the driver side door sill. and then the rca's and remote turn on the lead down the passenger side. it helps cut down on interference. Youll wanna pull out your deck and plug in the rcas to the rca output on the HU and connect the amps remote turn on lead to the remote turn on output from the HU. Make sure you ground the amplifier within 6 feet of cable or less to somewhere in the trunk. do NOT run the ground back to the battery.

should have only take you 30 minutes to hook up though.. well it should be easy now. did you pop off the back seat and what not? to hide the extra cable? the bottom portion is just clips. just get a butter knife and run it along the bottom of the ack seat till it stops * somewhere in the middle* and just push on that tab with the butter knife. there are two tabs one on each side. otherwise all the cables are labeled and should be easy.
