i just had my head unit yanked out and an aftermarket one put in, but i had a friend do it for me basically. All i know though, is if you can get your dash apart easily, the head unit goes in no problem as long as you have the right mounting bracket thing...

For the DIY:

1A. Park car and apply e-brake
1B. Automatics only- turn it on (Don't start it, just ON) deprress the brake and
1C. Shift to 1 for autos, Neutral for manuals
2. Pull off the lower bezel around the shifter. it's just clipped on, disconnet the lighter on the back
3. Do the same for the upper bezel. disconnect your Defroster, Trac ontrol, and Fog switches (If equiped)
4. two small bolts and the radio will come out
5. Simply pull it out foward, and disconnect the wires.
6. Installation is reverse of disassembly

D-Brow is right. As long as you have the mounting bracket you'll be fine. It comes with a small bezel that has a small openeing (Put at the top) and a replacement radio support stand for the back of the radio (one may come with your new H/U).
