Headunit swap (mach 460)

I really want to put in my aftermarket headunit (it matches the blue interior lights, and its got an Ipod input) but i REALLY love the sound quality of the mach 460 system. Is there a way that i could hook it into the mach system? Could it be rewired if not? Also, I wanna add subs to it with my new headunit, would all this be possible?

ok i found ur post about it.

And i found this:

http://www.audiooutfitter.com/store/...ml?id=ukw8NPqT

So if i buy that, i will be able to hook up my other headunit with no problems? Should maybe i take a picture of the back of my headunit?

The one i will be replacing it with is:

Becuase you need to buy a headunit with multiple RCA jacks...

You need to have a subwoofer pre-out anyway (type of rca)...

Sorry I was on vacation...

ah shit. I already have my Headunit though.. its only got 2 RCA slots. And my sub is still hooked into my amp (i tore the whole thing out of my old car) and it has 2 RCA outputs.. Is there some way i could split the RCA inputs so i can use both?

You can split it but it wont sound that good...And you wont be able to tune it correctly...

But you can run RCA spliters on the front and run the right to the rear and the left to the front...Run the other set to the subs...But I dont think it is going to sound to great...

ok if you think it will be bad i don't wanna do all that work to have a shitty outcome. I guess i'll just buy a new headunit. Or maybe i should just get new speakers? If i get 2 good aftermarket speakers will it sound just as good as the 460?

Personally I would just find another headunit...

Find one with dual pre-outs plus an amp pre-out...

Yep...

Its best to make sure it has a subwoofer pre-out...That way you can control the subwoofer all by itself...Then you have the other two preouts...One to control the front and one to control the rear...

right so like i said:

the metra makes the mach speakers into 2 pairs of RCA's. 1 front, 1 rear, and then my amp has 1 pair.
...

Wow, i am retarded.. i was just looking at circuit city's website for headunits.. and i came across mine and it says "6 amp pre-outs".

So i look at mine (it was in my room) and its got 3 pairs of RCA inputs.. thats sweet. God i'm dumb. I guess i just assumed it only had 1 input (my headunit before this only had 1).

Well then you are set...

Find out which is the subwoofer preout and put the amps RCA's in that one...

Find the front preouts...Put the front in that...

Find the rear pre-outs and put the rear in that...

Easy as pie...
