anyone ever install a tach on a 99-04 v6? PLEASE HELP!


well i have all the wires in exept the one that acttually reads the rpmshas anyone ever put a tach in a 99-04 please help

we dont know wha color wire is the rpm wire in side the dash?

you don't hook that wire into your dash. you hook it into one of your coils on the engine. they are what read your engine speed

ok im half way done and nows it for the coil wire and i ask a technichian at a ford dealer ship and he said i needed a adapter for my 99 v6 to install a tach but i was wonder if theres any way around this such thing. this is where my freind is at installing it the coil wire have u heard of this

yea.. no need for an adapter...


just pop the coil and splice off the end of the tach wire so bare wire is exposed.

plug it into the coil plug and put the coil plug back in place.

i dont' know about the 6'ers, but i have to get the coil adaptor from MSD when i put my stewart warner GUS tach in my 04 GT
