I've seen people put subs on the back of it so it's facing the front of the car rather than on the bottom side of it. just another option to consider...
My guess is it would probably work without building a box, but it would definitely sound a lot better if you did. You would need to check the sub's required airspace to know how big of a box to make. |

here is a drawing of what i was thinkin. i know you'll all laugh, its ok i did lol. but hey, thats what you get for 30 secs of ms paint lol.
![]() anyways, thats what i was thinking. i want a sub box below the seats for better sound quality but i'm wondering if building a box off my rear seat delete is even a good idea or more hassle than anything. |

that would work fine with the box built under the seat thats what i would do and get a good set of subs like jl or kicker that will work in a small sealed box or you could go with free air subs and not build a box but they dont put out as much bass and not very good sound quality

How rigid is the rear seat delete? A sub box has to, by design, be solid or you will get poor performance. Also, you need to figure your volume. Too much and you'll get poor upper response, to tight and you'll have no low end.
If you want good sound, put 'em in the trunk and face them to the rear. The tone you hear from subs has a longer acoustic wave than that of your high end, therefore the further away from you it starts the truer the sound will be. If they start off as far into the trunk as possible then it originates there at the cone of the sub, travels to the rear of the trunk and rebounds off of the bulkhead and travels all the way foreward into the passenger cabin and your auditory sensory organs (ya' ears, dog!) Trust me on this one. I was the install manager of a large car audio shop for just over 8 years. I've faced them foreward, backward, up, down, and sideways. Point them to the back, secure the box and enjoy your tunes.
