A cap won't do shit for his problem once that first big transient note hits and you pull it down. What happens then? It has to recharge, and guess where that comes from? Back to square one.

PUT A DIGITAL MULTI METER ON IT AT THE BATTERY AT IDLE, TURN UP THE TUNES AND SEE WHAT YOUR CHARGING SYSTEM IS DOING. If you're falling below say about 12.2 v then you might wanna take it to an alternator shop and see if they can give you a rebuild with an upgrade. In my '92 Grand Prix I had the stocker rewound to 140 amps, ran like a champ.

And a +1 on upgrading your charging leads, pos and neg's. (kinda like I already said...)

agreed...a cap is worthless IMO anyway, i really think the alternator is shot and needs to be fixed
