ipod integration question...

i've found a ipod and aux in that is designed for a ford cd changer plug, but the mach 460 has a cable going in the plug, but using different pins on the connector. my question is if i add this adaptor to the factory connector via removing the wiring from the adaptor connector and adding to the factory, will both the cd changer and input work? the changer and adaptor use different pins, so the spots are open on the factory one...

What brand/model adaptor is it? Do you have the link to a pic/diagrams? Most of the ones I have installed have a "T" harness that will keep the stock harness from being cut.

i'm not saying cutting it, i'm saying add the pins to the factory socket. pins are removable from connectors fairly easily, even easier to put in so the factory part would still be fully in tact, its the ipod adaptor connector that would be commin apart, but even than not cut. not sure of the brand its something we sell at pepboys. but i guess this would produce the same outcome as a t connector so that should work right? i am talking about the plug that goes into the cd changer port of the unit...

I done a few in ford cars but for some reason some of the adaptors disable the factory indash 6 disc changer. On the back of your radio you have 3 plugs, 1st plug rectangular has the power/ground and run the 4 tweeter in the car, 2nd is a big square, that is the plug that must of the ipod/mp3 adaptors plug into, and the 3rd plug small square has 6 wires in it is the plug that run the 2 factory mach amps for your 4 (6x8) mid ranges.

i have a griffin itrip and it works fantastic. no worries about running wires. just plug it in to your ipod and tune your radio to which ever station you are broadcastingon through your itrip. its nice!

But it is wireless FM transmitter and the sound quaity is poor. I mean if you dont care how it sounds go wireless. If you want it to sound good get something that wire into the radio directly.

well actually the sound quality is fine. Of course a wire is better, but for the ease of it and the fact that you can move it between cars and home is def a +1. it pretty much out weighs fact that "the sound quality is poor."
