Alpine Type R mono or 2 channel?

Hey there, totally new to car audio and was wondering if someone could answer my question

Im looking into getting 2 Alpine SWR-1042D subs (dual 4-ohm voice coils 200-500W RMS)
and was wondering if a MTX 1800W amp would power both of them. (300 x 2 RMS @ 4 ohms)

The MTX amp is a 4 channel though. WOuld it be better to get a mono amp for these subs such as the Alpine MRP-M1000? (RMS Power @ 4 ohms: 600W x 1 (1% THD) RMS Power @ 2 ohms: 1000W x 1)

This whole ohm thing really confuses me.... So what should I do? Get a 2 channel amp or run them in series on a mono amp?

THANK YOU LOTSS GUYYSS!!

-brandon!

get a mono or a 2 channel.....the mrp-m1000 is exspensive... look around kenwood, kicker, hifonics, power acustic. there some decent resonably priced amp out there... i had 2 12 type r's dual 2 ohm and a kenwood 1800 class d, 900 rms @ 2 ohms. in a box 3.5 cubic feet tuned to 35...i hit 146.00db

if you run 2 subs that are dual 2ohm... the amp will see 0.5,2,8 ohms
if you run 2 subs that are dual 4ohm... the amp will see 1,4 ohms

personally i would get dual 2ohms because you can run them at 2ohms eficently... dual 4ohms run at 1ohm and most amps can run 1 ohm, stick with dual 2

Go with a Kicker zx500.1 amp, and do the single voice coil model subs. Very efficiant, and simple to wire. (There is NO sound quality or output difference between the single and dual voice coil subs. Only wiring options.)
