Sub sounds dampened

About two weeks ago I blew my manifold so i had to replace it. obviously during this swap i unplugged my battery. The wires were unplugged from the terminal for about 2 days...Once the swap was complete hooked the battery and everything back up and then the sub sounded like shit. It sounds like its only running like 1/3 power and it has a dampened sound. It doesn't kick hard or anything anymore. I tried changing all the settings on my amp back and fourth and on the head unit. Nothin'. Any ideas here??

Need a little more info, like what year car, head unit, amp and speaker types/sizes.

right off the bat, it sounds like a settings problem with the head unit, though.

I would say check all the wires, and I mean ALL the wires dealing with your stereo. If you find nothin abnormal or worng, and all settings are correct, then move on to a hardware malfuction.

Could be the head unit, could be the amp, might even be the subs. If you have another head unit around try swaping it out and testing it. Do the same with the amp if possible.

Never had anything like this happen, so Im just saying what I would check and try before spending money on new parts.
