2001 gt mach stock rear speaker encloser

if the black box under the package tray is a speaker enclosure, if i remove it to mount an amp in its location will that mess with the rear speakers? i wish to keep rear speakers.

On the mach 460 system the 2 6x8 and 2 tweeter are mounted in that enclosure and when you drop that down the speakers come with it.
