Car Audio Wiring - Need Help! Also I need to run new speaker wires into the trunk and doors. Looking for documentation of this being done as well and how it was done. Any resources / advice / help appreciated greatly. Thanks in advance! Chris |

Welcome to the forums. I have no documentation but I will tell you that if you put your head by where the pedals are and look up by the left of the clutch (or where it would be on an auto) there is a grommet which wiring is run through the firewall. Just open that up and use that one. for the power wire

If you have a clutch in that spot, there is a big grommet to the left of the clutch with many wires run throught the firewall if you dont have a grommet tool to push throught the grommet use that. You can also take a flat head screw driver and push it throught to open up a hole and then feed the wire throught.
Why do you have to run new speaker wire into the doors and trunk? There is no fun way to get wire throught that door boot. Have Fun With That! |

getting the wire through the door boot isn't the bad part. it's getting your hand TO the boot on the interior of the car that sucks.
as far as the power wire, do what these guys already suggested. for the speaker wires, if you are trying to bypass the factory amplifier, i'm pretty sure the factory amp is behind the radio and to the right. if you can get the output harnesses off of the amp, a Metra 70-1770 Ford harness should match up with those harnesses. i may be wrong, but i'd give that a shot before rewiring the whole thing. Metra 70-1770

Squints is correct the amp is behind the radio. If you do not have the mach system you will see two harnesses right behind the radio gray and black, then you can just unplug them and use the harness squints is showing and you will bypass that factory amp.

it really isnt hard to run new wire into the door. I just did it. I removed the sill plate, and then the kickpanels. from the door side I worked a long ziptie through that I had zipped around the end of my wire, then simply fished it through. Running 14G wire was a breeze.

I still have the question why are you running new speaker wire? Do you have some HUGE 4 channel amp your running for your 4 speakers?
