can some one check a wire on their ALT for me?

Ok, I have been having an intermittant issue with my car recently... the Batt light keeps coming on. I checked a wiring diagram and the wire that goes to the batt light comes directly from the alternator. specifically the lower wire on the 2 wire plug on the drivers side of the alt. I noticed yesterday that when the light is on i only see 1.6 volts on this wire, and when the light is out, it is around 13.5.... So I am pretty sure this is the issue. something internal to the alt. Can some one please check the voltage on their car for me?
