Video won't play...HELP

So I got a Pioneer double din mulitmedia center (or whatever you wanna call it; touchscreen) and I got everything installed etc. but I can't play dvd's when I'm parked or driving. I also can't use my little aux port either when I'm parked or driving either. Is this due to the fact that I just didn't hook up the e-brake switch at all? I know you can bypass them (which is what I wanted to do), but I'm thinking this is why nothing is even playing when I'm parked....because I just didn't even attach that green wire.??!@!!@#$%^&^.....I'm confuzled.

do i need to just ground that wire instead of hooking it up to the e-brake? I'm not sure how our e-brakes work....do they have a switch that gets ingaged or what not when the e-brake is engaged or disengaged? if they do have a switch then do i just need to ground that e-brake switch somewhere so it completes a circuit as like it would if the e-brake was engaged? so then it will think the e-brake is engaged thus allowing the bypass? ......sorry if that's confusing =)

i've never really lookin into it, so im not sure, but there most likely is a wire in there somewhere bc when u pull the ebrake up the brake light comes on, so there has to be somethin in there somewhere

What model of pioneer screen is it?

If it is a newer model, then you cant just hook the light green wire to ground.

This will work if you dont have an avic model(GPS) screen.

The simple way to bypass it is get a switch hook 1 side to the light green wire and then hook the other side to ground. Then put a movie in and turn the switch on then off then on agian. Now you should have video. You will Have to do this everytime you get in the car to watch a movie.

Other then the off brand name screens or kenwood screens just have the simple bypass of hooking the e-brake wire to ground now. The other companies are just making it more harder each year with there new models to bypass.

To get the Aux to work turn the car on then hit the off button to turn the screen off, tap the screen in the middle or so. This should bring up a menu(a.menu) button, tap that button. There should be something in the menu where you have to turn on the aux input. This shouldnt have anything to do with the parking brake wire.

Yeah like I said pioneers dont have that simple ground the wire and it works, they just are trying to make it harder for the consumer to watch video when driving.

The n2 you had to solder 2 pionts inside the unit. I think they started that with there screens without nav. the same year the avic-n2 came out.

Mount it some where if you ever get pulled over the cop doesnt see it.

I have had people come into my shop with a switch mounted right in plain sight on the dash and there watching a movie. The cop pulls them over they turn the switch off then the cop asks what the switch for or the cop says turn that switch on and the person turns the switch on, cops see there watching a movie and they get a ticket.

I like to call that an id10t ticket. So mount it somewhere were it is hidden.

^ Correct there is a relay on board that counteracts the "ground out" method. you can either use the switch, wire up a relay, or go to AVIC411.com they tell you all the ways to do it even if its not an avic.
