what is your mono amp stable at? now with the type R's with the 4 ohm you can wire them up in series and bring them up to 4 ohms or parallel to bring them down to 1 ohms, the 2 ohm you can wire them up in series to 2 ohms then if you wire them up in parallel they will drop down to .5 ohms. not alot of amps out there will handle .5 ohms and if you want one look into spending alot of money. you can find some good amps that will handle 1 ohm but they will still be a little pricey. it all depends on how much "thump" you are looking for and how much you are trying to spend. I know that type r's usually require about 500 watts contious RMS at either 4 ohms or 2. cant remember. I think that they are 500 at 4.

if you scroll down on this you will see how you can wire them up depending on your amp.
