Long tube headers are just that, long tube. they extend down about halfway past the stock mid pipe and make more power and sound better. shortys are basically stock replacements and arent worth the money. to do long tubes you'd have to change your x pipe, for shorties you won't.

lt's give you more highend power as where shorties give you more torque from what I've read

He's kinda right. You won't have to do any modifications on your x or h pipe to hvae them fit. If you get the long tubes, you will have to modify your mid pipe or buy a special midpipe.

I plan on going the longtube route and having a shop cut my midpipe to fit.

Well, long tube headders will give you more power at lower rpm and a deeper sound all with less clearance. Shorties on the other hand will give you more top end power with less sound and more clearance. It's all about how you want to drive your stang

long tubes imo. shorties are fine to keep bottome end torque but most people dont spend enough time below 3500 rpm's to utilze it. turbos require manifolds/headers of their own.
